A Wedding Band for Infidels! July 12, 2012

The media thrives on famous athletes and officials who turn away from their wives/husbands in a moment of confused insanity. This lapse of judgement may or may not be detrimental to the career of the infidel but nevertheless the meaning of marriage is called to the spot light. I do not know what leads one to turn their back on a sacred marriage vow and the promise of a life together but I do know that some jewelers are taking the infidelity problem into their own hands.
A website called thecheeky.com is selling a wedding band engrave with “I’m Married” to help the tempted soul remain true to his or her commitment. When the ring is removed, the deep negative engraving leaves an imprint on the skin of the finger that reads “I’m Married”. The website claims that “when you are in the ‘Club’ and and attractive woman… or man comes along to chat, slipping your wedding ring off is not and option”.
I am not sure who would be able to make out the imprinted message in a club; perhaps a tattoo would be more effective? Or perhaps remaining faithful is something that one should consider with or without a ring, imprint, or tattoo on their finger.
While this is a creative idea, an increase in self-control and respect for other is the only action that will lead to a faithful marriage.
The Bachelorette, Emily Maynard… Who will she choose? July 2, 2012
Posted by Jill Renee in : Engagement Rings , 1 comment so farThe eighth season of the Bachelorette is winding down and only four men remain in the running! With hometown dates airing tonight, who do you think this lovely single mother is going to pick at the end of the show?
I believe Arie Luyendyk and Jef Holm will be the last two standing while Chris Bukowski and Sean Lowe will be sent packing.
Although Chris Bukowski is a great guy and Emily and Chris seem to like each other, I do not see a spark between the two of them. Any woman would be lucky to end up with Chris but that special connection between Chris and Emily simply isn’t there. Sean Lowe is dealing with a similar case. He and Emily are lacking the chemistry needed for a happily ever after. Tonight will most likely bring more trouble for Sean after Emily discovers that he still lives at home! I believe she will send him packing for fear that he is not ready to be a father.
As far as Arie and Jef are concerned, I am not alone in my prediction! Several other Bachelorette lovers have told me that they agree with my final two. However, they think Arie’s proposal will be the one she accepts. I on the other hand think Jef has this in the bag.
As far as it is portrayed on TV, Emily and Arie seem to have a deep connection. However, I can’t help but think that the producers are creating a deeper connection than what is truly there in order to keep us tuned in and interested. The show is putting a great deal of attention on Arie which has proven in previous seasons to mislead the audience. Furthermore, there have been many incidences that make Arie a less likely choice. We have already seen Emily singling Arie out because he didn’t stand up for her, and then he unexpectedly snuck over to her house, and lastly, we witnessed his secretive fling and relationship with the producer. I believe the show is steering us to Arie but Jef will prevail in the end. Emily and Jef have had a true and strong connection from the beginning. This connection has grown stronger and stronger over the last few months. Although she has a connection with Arie, I believe that her connection with Jef is stronger, has more possibility to continue to grow, and is more real.
In the end I know we are all hoping that Emily finds her prince charming for her and Ricky. You have my predictions, what are yours?
